The Merrillville Community Planetarium presented 681 shows during the 2001-02 school year, exceeding the previous record of 592 shows during 1999-2000. Merrillville classes saw 400 shows -- about 59% of the total -- during 2001-02. Outside groups attended 253 programs (37%) and there were 28 public shows (4%). Nearly 30,000 people attended programs at the planetarium.
