Two Canadian scientists from the University of British Columbia believe that some meteorites on Earth could have come from Mercury. They studied impacts with Mercury and came to the conclusion that 5% of impact-launched rocks that escape Mercury’s gravity could make their way to Earth.

Since the exact composition of Mercury is unknown, meteorites from Mercury cannot be identified. By 2011, the Messenger spacecraft at Mercury may be able to supply the information needed to identify Mercurian meteorites on Earth.
