NASA’s Genesis spacecraft mission is to scoop up atomic bits and pieces of the solar nebula with its special collectors. It will be the first extraterrestrial sample from beyond the moon. Genesis is collecting from a location about one million miles away from Earth in the direction of the sun. Genesis began collecting samples on December 3, 2001 and is due to return in September 2004.
