Sidewalk Astronomy

On Saturday, March 15, the Calumet Astronomical Society (CAS) will host a viewing event called “Rings of Saturn” at the Merrillville Town Hall at 7820 Broadway. Saturn is in an excellent viewing position high in the southern sky and a great viewing position or angle to see the rings. CAS members will be there to answer questions about Astronomy and telescopes. The club members will bring telescopes to view Saturn and different objects in the night sky. A 22-inch telescope will be available for viewing. A ladder is needed just to reach the eyepiece! Other telescopes will be available for viewing too. The event will begin at dusk.
