Biggest Star Ever Found

A giant star cluster (R136A) in the Large Magellanic Cloud holds the largest star ever found named R136a1. Astronomers believe the star formed with a mass of 320 times the mass of our sun. Its powerful solar wind has shed material in this early stage of the star, and now it has a mass about 265 times greater than our sun. Other massive stars have been found in the cluster, but not quite as large as R136a1.
