Learn about Earth

Earth Day on April 22nd is a good day to learn about Earth and help the environment. Many different activities will be offered locally to celebrate Earth Day. Participate in activities like planting trees or picking up litter. Recycling and conservation activities or discussions can be done. Learn about Earth by going to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory website at www.jpl.nasa.gov and scroll down to the row of pictures at the bottom of the home page. Take the “Carbon Quiz” and discover how many simple, daily activities affect our atmosphere. Read the “10 Things about Earth” and find out some unusual facts. Interact with “Build a Space Mission” or try the “Extreme Planet Makeover.” Watch the “Space School Musical” video. Check out the “Eyes on Earth 3D” and find out the many satellites and their missions to study Earth. Learn about the search for other Earth-like planets in the podcast “Kepler: Other Earths?”
